The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York

Premier Suite had a beautiful room, bathroom had a large walk-in shower which was excellent but a tiny one person sink with no counter space across the toilet. Clearly their best effort during the last renovation about 20 years ago, working with a 95-year-old floor plan. one of the last hotels in the US with elevator operators.

The Pierre has the kindest and most considerate staff of any hotel in New York City The charm and warmth of their elevator operators might be the best part (last ones in the city!) but it’s a unique and beautifully kept up relic of old New York that I hope stays this way forever. Thank you for making our stay wonderful!

What a great experience! From the moment I stepped out of the car, the customer service was outstanding 10/10. The bell staff, doormen, elevator attendants. Everyone was warm and welcoming. The room was spacious and very clean. The location, right near 5th Avenue, Madison, and Central Park, great location!!! Exactly what I was looking for when I arrived in New York. I’ll definitely be back and recommended. The Jazz room was very charming and beautiful time. Their car service was also very convenient.

We were fortunate enough to spend time at the Pierre Hotel located on 61st Street in NYC while attending a Gala over the weekend. We loved the Premier Pierre Suite featuring a King Bed and stunning views of Manhattan. The hotel and its rooms exude a lovely old-world charm that is truly beautiful. The amenities include a doorman, a restaurant, and the MarieBelle Chocolate Store and more. The elevators also possess charm, complete with elevator operators. A wonderful place to stay.

The Pierre exudes true old world charm, shaped by impeccable Art Deco design, gracious proportions, and an elegance that transcends fashion and time. This is luxury that doesn’t seek attention. It offers assurance, and calm, rooted in history yet unmistakably current. Staying here elevates even the simplest moments. Room service breakfast feels effortlessly indulgent, meant to be savored slowly as the treetops and green space of Central Park stretch endlessly beyond the windows. Coffee arrives hot, pastries are beautifully prepared, and the service is quiet and intuitive, allowing the morning to unfold at its own unhurried pace. As evening falls, the experience becomes even more intimate. Romantic dinners in your room take on a cinematic quality as the light fades over the park and the city begins to glow. Crisp linens, attentive service, and uninterrupted views create a sense of privacy and romance that feels rare in Manhattan. Down the hallway from the elevators, you turn right and pass the irresistible Mariebelle New York, where glass cases tempt you with the most scrumptious chocolate covered almonds and an array of beautifully crafted treats. Just beyond, you enter the hotel’s main dining room, an unexpectedly beautiful space wrapped in frescoes that cover both the ceiling and the walls. The effect is immersive and transportive, evoking the feeling of a grand European salon. Walking straight through this frescoed room, the space opens seamlessly into Restaurant Peregrine at the far end. Here, the atmosphere shifts to something light and airy, with windows all around that flood the room with natural light and frame views of Fifth Avenue and Central Park. The contrast between richly layered artistry and bright openness feels intentional and perfectly balanced. One of the most inviting touches is that the elevators are still operated by warm, attentive attendants who remember you. Mornings begin with a familiar greeting, and from the front desk to the elevators, the quiet recognition and genuine warmth create a feeling of ease and belonging that makes the hotel feel like a true home away from home. Step outside and the romance of the setting continues. Just beyond the entrance, horse drawn carriages line up at Grand Army Plaza, waiting to carry guests through Central Park at an unhurried pace. The gentle rhythm of the horses, the clip clop of hooves, and the sweep of the park’s winding paths feel like a scene from another time, a perfect complement to the Pierre’s enduring sense of grace. The Pierre captures the very best of a world class city, distilled into a place of enduring beauty, grace, and romance.

Aside from the service being impeccable at this establishment, the rooms are huge. Very rare for a New York City hotel to have such grand rooms. Also, the room service was incredible. Our food was delicious and brought up in a very timely manner 10 out of 10.

My stay here in this beautiful historic hotel has been one of THE BEST experiences during my nyc exploration. Front staff was amazing, especially Damien who helped me navigate the hotel and walk me to my room. He brings a positive addition to the staff. Ash was also great and made a great impact during my stay. Will be coming back soon enough. Thank you Pierre Hotel!

I love coming to the downstairs bar when Miguel is working. He's attentive, just the right amount. I used to come here when I first moved to NYC 9 years ago, and have recently returned to my old-time favorite weekend relaxation. Thank you for the good service, Miguel.
